Black tie wedding attire would require a full suit or tuxedo, with full length gowns in dark colours. Stay away from prints, with solid colours only.

How much a wedding dress will cost will depend on the material, detail and the designer. You can pick up a simple dress for a couple of hundred of dollars up to tens of thousands of dollars for a full couture gown. 

How to transport a wedding dress on a plane 

Heading off for a destination wedding? You will want to make sure that your dress stays in pristine condition, and that can be difficult when you have to transport it on a plane. 

If you are planning on flying with your wedding dress, here are some options for you to consider: 

Place your wedding dress in garment bag and ask flight attendants if they can hang it up for you. Note, not all providers will have the space to hang your dress so be prepared to have to put your dress in the overhead compartment. If you do have to place it in the overhead compartment, lay it out across you and your partners bags as best you can; or 

Place dress in garment bag and place in its own carry-on sized luggage bag.
